Why Did Bobby Cox Want To Pitch To Ryan Howard?

The Atlanta Braves had a perfect opportunity to climb near the top of the National League East, but instead lost two of three games against the league-leading Philadelphia Phillies.

I blame it on Bobby Cox’s insistence that he pitch to Ryan Howard after he was powering balls over the fence in the first two games. The Braves had some decent pitching outings in the series, but the Phillies were a tad bit better.

Walking Howard could have saved the Braves some runs and earned them a win more in this series.
