Atlanta Braves Move Two Games Closer To Playoffs

Posted by: thelandryhat

The Atlanta Braves won their 15th game out of 17, beating the Florida Marlins 4-0 today.

Jair Jurrjens pitched seven innings for his 14th win.

Chipper Jones homered for the Braves, who are now two games behind the idle Colorado Rockies for the National League playoff spot.

The Braves have won seven in a row, a season high. The win pretty much seals a playoff-less season for the Marlins.

The Braves have six games left, including two more against the pesky Marlins. Then the Braves close the season against the Washington Nationals for four games.

The Rockies have it even tougher, with three games against the Milwaukee Brewers and three more against division leading L.A. Dodgers.

Man, you ought to see the comments on some of these Phillies blogs…”Congrats to the Braves, NL East ‘09 champs.” Its almost disgusting how easily the Phils fans hop off the boat, but if the Braves keep it up and Phillies don’t want to try, I say give the braves the playoff spot. They certainly deserve it.
