The Brave should send San Diego - Lowe, K. Johnson, Schafer, and another prospect for A. Gonzalez to play first and bat cleanup. Then pick up Xavier Nady to play outfield, who I think I read he wanted to play for Atlanta.

Richard, they do have the money to sign Holliday. They just don't want to spend it.

The Braves DO need a big bat to help get to the playoffs. They just don't have a guy like that

Well, the problem is the team does not have money. There is nothing really you can do about that. If they have the resource like Yankee has and without the pressure they put on themselves every year, of course the Braves can get great players to build one of the best team in the league.Well, on paper anyway.

Secondly, you have to understand you don't know what will happen until the season is ended and it is obvious you cannot predict anything before the season even start. You don't know how any of those new players will likely performing. Can anyone predict Javy had his career year in 2009 before the year beginning? I will welcome any new player joining the team, if they don't perform, fans can hate them later.

Finally, can any of above names be the final piece that gets the Braves back into playoffs? I would say no too. The thing is Braves does not need any of them of get back to the playoffs. As long as they don't keep losing to the team like Reds, Pirates, Nats (need to be better than 10-8), they will win the division. I always say the Phillies is not as good as a team as it seems. Not only I stand by my points, I doubt they can win more than 90 games next year. Braves is the best team in NL East, maybe in NL, I have no doubt in that.
