Chipper Jones Smacks Homer For Win With Billy Wagner Save

Leave it to Chipper Jones to put the Atlanta Braves ahead of the Chicago Cubs 3-2 in the bottom of the 8th Inning.

Billy Wagner has his first chance to get a save for the Braves. He strikes out the first batter, Marlon Byrd, with ease.

Alfonso Soriano hit a single and became the tying run on base.

Xavier Nady went down swinging for the second out.  Geovany Soto was frozen at the plate for strike three.

Game over.

This is Wagner’s first save since 2008 before he had Tommy John surgery.

Chipper Jones’ huge home run is what a leader does for a team. The Braves won a close came early in the season, something they have not done in years.

Tommy Hanson takes the mound tomorrow, and you cannot help but grab the broom. You want to be prepared to sweep the little Cubs out the door.
