David O’Brien of AJC.com is reporting that despite Jason Heyward saying that he thought his groin was feeling better manager Bobby Cox is preparing for the worst. When talking about Heyward Cox said:

"“I think it’s worse than day-to-day,” Cox said. “We’re gonna wait a few more days and see if it gets better. Hopefully we don’t have to disable him. That would be rough right now.”"

"“If he could run real well he would have been on second base [Thursday] night with the base hit, when they overthrew” on the play, Cox said. “And he couldn’t do it.”"

The article goes on to say that Cox is reluctant to use Heyward as a pinch hitter against Philly in the case that they do need to put him on the Disabled List and have it retroactively begin to when he last played.

So no good news for Braves fans as they may be without Heyward for longer than expected.

In other news Brian McCann is still having vision problems and will return to play wearing glasses.
