Brian McCann is highly questionable for Thursday night’s series finale against the Marlins. The Braves catcher tweaked the quad in the fourth inning and played through the seventh before being lifted for a pinch runner. Despite the hot streak that the Braves are on, they need to rest McCann as they don’t want that lingering injury to turn into something worse. McCann after a slow start is hitting .263 with 5 home runs and 18 rbi’s.

Also worth noting is Braves First Baseman Troy Glaus has a sore foot and he also left the game during the seventh inning. Nothing to be alarmed about at this point but something to keep an eye on as the team moves forward.

Braves sign Cuban Outfielder Yasser Gomez According to MLBTradeRumors.com Gomez defected from Cuba in 2008 and was described then as a speedy outfielder who hits for a high average. No details as to his whereabouts since 2008. Gomez is said to be around 30 years old. I would guess that he will take Gregor Blanco’s spot at Triple A Gwinnett. We will be monitoring his progress in the minors in the coming weeks.

Former Brave Wilson Betemit was Called up by the Kansas City Royals. Remember when Wilson Betemit was the Braves top prospect?
