A pair of Braves players were rewarded for their outstanding play during the month of May.

Troy Glaus was named National League Player of the Month for May. Glaus led the National League with 28 RBI’s during the month. He also hit a blistering .330 with 6 home runs. Glaus rebounded from a sub par April to help lead the Braves to a 20-8 record. During April it was debated as to whether the Braves made a mistake in signing Glaus but his play in May has erased all of that talk.

For the second consecutive month Braves Rookie Jason Heyward was named as National League Rookie of the Month. Heyward remains the leading candidate for NL Rookie of the Year and a big reason that the Braves have been surging of late. He leads all rookies with 10 home runs and 38 RBI’s. Heyward is also among the leaders in All Star Voting and needs all of the support Braves fans can give him.
