Tomahawk Take Poll: The Dilemma in Center Field

With Nate McLouth being activated today the Braves outfield just got a whole lot more crowded. It is likely that McLouth’s return will be at the expense of Gregor Blanco who only hit .310 in his 35 games filling in. In case you don’t remember McLouth was hitting a minuscule .176 in about 170 at bats. This raises a very good question as to what the Braves should actually do with this situation. McLouth’s trade value can’t be any lower than it is right now giving his hefty contract. The Braves really have no choice but to play him and hope that he bounces back due to the adjustments to his swing that he made at Gwinnett while on the rehab assignment.

It has long been thought that any trade the Braves made before the trade deadline would be for an outfielder. With everyone getting healthy is a trade really necessary? Matt Diaz has hit very well since coming off of the Disabled List as the right handed portion of the Left Field platoon with Eric Hinske. Jason Heyward will be in right field and nothing other than injury will remove him. So the only question mark is in Center Field where McLouth has struggled and Melky Cabrera filled in acceptably. This is a topic that will continue to be revisited as we get closer to the trade deadline. Braves Nation what do you think?
