Martin Prado was placed on the disabled list before Monday night’s game against the New York Mets. Prado was injured on a slide at home over the weekend in Cincinnati. The move is retroactive to this past Saturday and will be eligible to return on August 15th.
To take Prado’s place on the roster infielder Diory Hernandez was called up from Gwinnett to give the Braves some more depth in the middle infield.
In other roster news Chris Resop completed his rehab stint and the Braves requested waivers on him with the intention to send him to Triple A Gwinnett. Resop was injured in his only major league appearance this season. If Resop clears waivers then he will have the option to either accept the assignment to Gwinnett or declare himself a free agent.
