Gustafson was called up to make the start in the nightcap of the doubleheader and gave up two doubles and six singles in five innings, not walking any. Freeman hit his 16th homer on the season. Nate McLouth went 0-2 and is 5-31 in his last ten games.

Montgomery 5, Mississippi 4
Kyle Cofield: 5 IP, 3 H, 2 R, ER, 5 K

Cofield gave up two doubles and a triple with no walks over five innings, striking out five. Erik Cordier struck out the side in his inning of work. Donell Linares and Jordan Schafer each added an RBI. Antoan Richardson picked up a single and walked twice. Gomez is hitting .371 in his last ten games with two homers and nine RBIs.

Potomac 7, Myrtle Beach 5
Brett Oberholtzer: 5 IP, 2 H, ER, BB, 12 K
Cody Johnson: 2-4, HR, 2 RBI
Samuel Sime: 2-4, HR, 2 RBI
Gerardo Rodriguez: 2-5, RBI

Oberholtzer had perhaps his best outing this season, giving up a single and a solo homer and striking out 12 in five innings. The 12 strikeouts upped his total to 95 in 108 innings this season. Mycal Jones added two hits and two walks and Michael Jones added two hits. Myke has had a recent outburst with a .344 average in his last ten games, including four homers and seven RBIs with nine walks.

Augusta 6, Rome 5
Ryan Weber: 7.1 IP, 10 H, 4 ER, 2 K
Philip Gosselin: 2-5, 2B, RBI
Matthew Weaver: 2-5, 2B, RBI
Jake Hanson: 1-4, 2B, 2 RBI

Weber allowed two doubles, a triple, and seven singles in over seven innings, not walking any. He induced 13 grounders to four fly balls and seemed to work fairly efficiently despite the ten hits. It’s another decent outing for Weber at Rome and he can only get better. Bobby Rauh went 2-4 with a double. Riaan Spanjer-Furstenburg added a double and walk.

Danville 9, Bluefield 2
Ronan Pacheco: 6 IP, 5 H, ER, BB, 7 K
Elmer Reyes: 2-4, 2B, HR, 3 RBI

Joseph Terdoslavich: 3-5, RBI
Kenny Fleming: 3-4, RBI

Pacheco had a much better outing this time around, giving up two doubles and three singles in six innings and striking out seven. You never know what you’re going to get from him. Terdoslavich continues to slug as I mentioned last night. Barrett Kleinknecht had a rare 0-5 day.

GCL Phillies 7, GCL Braves 4
Williams Perez: 3 IP, 5 H, 3 ER, 2 K
Kurt Fleming: 2-5, 2B, RBI
Kyle Rose: 2-4

Roster Moves:
RHP Brandon Beachy demoted to AA Mississippi; Tim Gustafson called up to AAA Gwinnett.
(I assume this was due to the DH today. Otherwise it makes no sense)

Willie Cabrera and Luis Bolivar called up to AAA Gwinnett.

3B Dan Nelson called up to AA Mississippi.
