Another Quick Chipper Update And A Poll

Hello again from Hawaii. This is probably my last article from here, as I fly home to Michigan tomorrow night.

Since the Chipper news was so positive today, I thought I’d quickly bring you up to speed, then seek out your opinion.

First, Chipper played his first spring game today, appearing as the DH versus the Mets. He went one for three with a solid single. Even more importantly, he slid into second to try to break up a double play. After the game, he was very positive, saying in essence that the knee was good and the thing he needed most was to see some real pitches. You can read Mark Bowman’s full piece on Chipper’s day here.

Chipper apparently indicated that he was targeting playing 130 games. It wasn’t clear if he was including pinch-hitting in his estimate. So, what’s your view on Chipper’s games played (for purposes of our poll INCLUDING pinch-hitting appearances).
