Scheduling Alert: Rainout Forces Doubleheader

Hello again everyone from Michigan, where we’re suffering from sympathy rain, I guess due to all the rain in Atlanta.

All the inclement weather has forced the rare outcome of a rainout at Turner Field, and even more rarely the second of the young season.

What’s even more rare is the Braves’ decision to once again play this as a “traditional” doubleheader, where the fans get to see two games for the price of one, the same as they did in this season’s prior rainout against the Mets.

The first game will start at 4:10, with the second game starting thirty minutes after the last pitch of the first game. Tommy Hanson pitches for the Braves in game one, going against Marco Estrada. Tim Hudson pitches the second game against Zack Greinke. Greinke is making his first start of the season, recovering from a cracked rib suffered playing basketball in the off-season.

Stay tuned for word on the Braves’ starter for the finale of the home stand on Sunday against the Phillies. Should the Braves elect not to start either Hudson or Hanson on short rest, it’s likely that Mike Minor would be called up from Gwinnett for the start.
