‘Take Classic Video of the Day: Maddux & Glavine remind us that chicks once dug the long ball

Before I saw this video a few years back I never knew that these two where shillin’ for Nike.

Notice the classic shots of old Busch Stadium and Big Mac. Maddux’s 2.22 ERA that year was a bit more sexy in my opinion. Glavine nearly matched him with a 2.47 and went 20-6.

It’s hard to believe that these guys were part of the same dream staff for so long. It’s also funny to see a couple of guys who in their prime looked like your 7th grade science teacher–and knowing that they shut down those muscle bound sluggers that were around at the tail end of the 90’s.
