Atlanta Braves Trade Rumors: Colorado Rockies still trying for Martin Prado

According to the Denver Post, the Rockies are still interested in acquiring Martin Prado:

Prado, an infielder, has been on the Rockies’ radar for months. He fits perfectly given their needs at second and third base. The issue is whether the Braves would deal Prado without receiving a center fielder in return. Or will the Rockies blink and include the previously off-limitsDexter Fowler? Colorado has offered outfielderSeth Smith, a left-handed power hitter who is viewed as a platoon player.

Good luck snagging Prado if you don’t plan on moving Dexter Fowler, Tim Wheeler, or Charlie Blackmon, Dan O’Dowd. Troy Renck writes that the Rockies are not going to trade Fowler, and have no interest in packaging the other two with Seth Smith.

Frank Wren has said that he doesn’t plan on making a trade unless he knows the team is being improved. Losing Prado to get a left field platoon of Matt Diaz and Seth Smith is not improving the team.

If the Rockies are as interested as they say they are, one of Fowler, Blackmon, or Wheeler need to become available. If not, they can have fun trading for Orlando Hudson.
