Braves-Phillies Open Thread, Upcoming Week

Hey guys, finally I’ll get another chance to watch a Braves game–it feels like I haven’t in a while–and I decided to go ahead and try an open thread. I’ll be commenting on it regardless if you want to just check up here to get the scores and updates of the game, if you can’t watch it. Games starts in a few minutes (7:10 to be exact) and the Heyward-less line up is posted below. It should be a great game to watch with Roy Halladay and Tommy Hanson facing off against one another.

  1. Michael Bourn, CF
  2. Martin Prado, LF
  3. Freddie Freeman, 1B
  4. Brian McCann, C
  5. Dan Uggla, 2B
  6. Chipper Jones, 3B
  7. Eric Hinske, RF
  8. Tyler Pastornicky, SS
  9. Tommy Hanson

Also this week I am going to be going over each player’s performance so far this season. Kind of a like a monthly check up. Be sure to come back around to check that out. In the mean time let’s focus on killing the Phillies tonight.

On second thought, one month isn’t exactly a huge sample size. I will touch up on the team in one post, but I’ll save the detailed reviews for the beginning of June.

Well Bourn, Prado, and Freeman all hit the ball well but come across with no runs. 0-0 after one complete inning.

Hanson has not been hitting with his fastball so far this game.

Extremely rough inning from Tommy Hanson. He gave up 4 runs on three singles an a 3 run double that Eric Hinske made look tough. His fastball hasn’t hit the plate all night and Tommy will be lucky to come back out the next inning. Martinez warming up in the bullpen.

Meanwhile, Halladay has thrown 29 pitches in the first three innings and Hanson saw 7 of those.

@leetro Yeah, Tommy has a lot he needs to figure out. In the meantime I am trying to trade him in my fantasy league. Should have taken Beachy.

Well, Hanson threw 95 pitches and completed 3 2/3 innings. He gave up 8 hits, 4 earned runs, struck out 3 and walked 2. Easily his worst outing of the year.

If you aren’t watching this game you are really missing out. a 6 hit 6 run fifth inning that was started by Chipper Jones and capped off with a two out Grand Slam by Brian McCann. tie game in the top of the 6th.

@CarlosCollazo Up here in WI, all I have is MLB Gameday, and I was shocked to see a 6-spot.

  • leetro

Why is Livan in the game?

  • leetro

    Ok, it worked.  1-2-3

  • leetro

Well, after Heyward puts us ahead, Ruiz hits a 3-run HR to put the Phils ahead 9-8…

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ CarlosCollazo

@leetro I was wondering that as well

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ CarlosCollazo

@leetro I hate him. Now he made it 12-8 with a bases clearing double.

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ CarlosCollazo

@leetro I wish you could have watched it. It was pretty awesome.

  • ZackFlagel
