The Braves jumped on Edinson Volquez early, scoring all their runs by the fourth inning, to cruise to a 6-1 victory Wednesday night over the Padres.

  • Dan Uggla hit a 3-run home run in the 3rd inning, homering on consecutive days for the first time this season after doing it four times last year.
  • Paul Maholm pitched another great game, allowing his only run on a Logan Forsythe homer.  In 3 starts, he has a 1.57 ERA with five walks and 20 K’s in 23 IP.
  • Julio Teheran posted one of his most dominant outings of the year last night, allowing one run in eight innings, striking out nine and walking no one.  It has been a trying year for the #1 prospect, with both his ERA and FIP hovering around 5.00.
