Braves Given Another Win By The Rockies

It was Groundhog’s Day at Turner Field, as the Braves get another 1-0 win to close the Rockies series. While Wednesday night’s run was somewhat understandable, today’s in nearly unbelievable. With Juan Francisco on third base, Jhoulys Chacin swipes at a return throw from the catcher and misses it, letting Francisco in.
- Like last night, pitching reigned supreme. Tim Hudson did not dominate, only striking out two, but he only allowed two line drives in seven innings. The Rockies bullpen did not allow a baserunner after Chacin left the game in the fourth.
- (Mandatory Dan Uggla Watch) Uggla went 1-for-4 with a ground-rule double down the right-field line that got Francisco to third to set up the unexplainable error. He then had a groundout, popout, and lazy flyout.
- Charlie Blackmon, after starting the season 6-for-44, went 4-for-4 with a double today. However, there were no runners on base for any of his at-bats, limiting the damage of the hits.
