And the Number is....

With the #10 worn by Atlanta Braves great Chipper Jones, Justin Upton will unfortunately not be able to carry over his long time jersey number to his newest team.  Since the first rumors began last season, the jersey number was a hot topic with the Braves acquiring Upton.  But after the blockbuster trade, it only took Justin a few days to decide what number he will wear.

In my previous post, right after the trade went through, I took a few stabs at what number could possibly be chosen.  My best guesses were the #24 and the number he chooses.  Justin Upton went with the #8 to wear on the back of his jersey for the 2013 season.

On Justin’s twitter page, he has asked fans to help pick out his new twitter handle since the number change.  Also, the person who sends in the chosen twitter handle gets a pair of autographed cleats.

The Braves have supposedly scheduled the official press conference with Justin Upton on Tuesday afternoon.  This should give the Braves organization plenty of time to get the jersey ready to be presented to the crowd of cameras.
