On Thursday Fredi Gonzalez and the Atlanta Braves management announced who will be on the mound for the first game of the season.  Taking on the Philadelphia Phillies on April 1st the Braves will send Tim Hudson out to the bump.

This will be Hudson’s third time being chosen by the Braves to represent them in the first game of the season.  His last opening day start came in 2008 against the Washington Nationals, he received a non-decision for his outing.  In his first opening day start, Hudson picked up another non-decision versus the Los Angles Dodgers.  We’re all hoping a better performance is in the future when he takes on the Phillies.
