Brian McCann has been rehabbing his right shoulder for months now trying to get back on the field and help his Atlanta Braves. McCann played through most of the season last year with this injury and probably effected his 2012 performance. They decided to wait until the end of the season to have shoulder surgery and that happened in October in hopes of being ready to go either at the start of the year or a month into it. But a set back has occurred, maybe minor, maybe not….right now the severity of the injury is unknown but it is a set back.
Ray Glier of MLB.com reports that McCann has left Florida where he was rehabbing his shoulder to travel back to Atlanta to have his right wrist looked at by doctors. According to a Braves representative the two injuries are not related, but there’s now no timetable for McCann getting back to shoulder rehab.
This set back is surely killing McCann as he was close to getting behind the plate and doing some throwing. They had set the May 1st date as his return but that has possibly been pushed back.
