After a 15-Day DL stint, Freddie Freeman will rejoin his team and play on Monday night against the Colorado Rockies (depending on the weather).  Freeman played in three minor league games from the Gwinnett Braves over the weekend going 5-10 at the plate.  He will be slotted back into the cleanup position for the Braves.

With Freddie back, the Braves plan to use the hot swinging Chris Johnson as their primary third baseman.  On Saturday, Coach Fredi Gonzalez threw a pretty good indicator at the media that Johnson would the be third baseman when Freddie returns and then on Sunday he said a more convincing line “He’ll play third, the guy is leading the league in hitting.”

With Freeman back in the middle of the order this gives the pressure off of Evan Gattis, who has been struggling here of late….probably because he’s seeing some of the opposing pitchers best pitches.  Freeman is used to this by now and will step right back in and contribute.  This could be the chess piece the Braves missed this past weekend as Freddie hits with average and power to all fields.

With Freeman back, lets put this past weekend behind us and get the brooms out again!
