The Atlanta Braves came into Detroit with the best record in baseball, they leave the motor city with three straight losses and a 3-7 road trip.  Not many positives to say about the ugly performance against the Tigers, other then its three games closer to the return of Jason Heyward and Brian McCann to the lineup.

The road doesn’t get easier for the Braves as the next few series consist of the Nationals, Mets, Reds, Giants, Diamondbacks and Dodgers.  They are heading back home to Atlanta after a long road series so maybe all they needed was so home cooking and local fan support.  We shouldn’t put down our Bravos or talk bad about them at the water cooler this morning…remember this is baseball and we have six months of ups and downs.

The Braves fought off horrible weather throughout their road trip with cold weather and rain in Pittsburgh, very cold weather and snow in Colorado and then rain again last night in Detroit.

As Washington rolls into town on Monday, they haven’t been the hottest team in baseball either as they’ve gone 4-6 in their last 10 games losing a series to the Mets and getting swept by the Cardinals.

Looks like bad weather again for Atlanta on Monday but it may clear out by game time.

Game 1 has Stephen Strasburg against Julio Teheran

Game 2 has Gio Gonzalez against Tim Hudson

Game 3 has Jordan Zimmermann vs Paul Maholm

Game 4 has Dan Haren vs Kris Medlen
