The Evan Gattis‘ story has been the sensation crossing around the MLB nation since opening day. He is second on the Braves in RBI’s with 32, second on the team in home runs with 12 and is tied for the lead in doubles with 11. Gattis or El Oso Blanco (the white bear) is leading all the rookies in the league in home runs, RBI’s, Slugging Percentage and On Base Percentage plus Slugging.
Today, the MLB announced that Evan Gattis has won the NL Rookie of the Month award. This is his second time in consecutive months for Evan and could possibly not be his last.
And he’s doing all this damage without a day to day given position. They’ve asked him to play catcher, first base, the outfield and he’s been nothing but impressive everywhere they place him. Before he plays each different position, all the skeptics had something negative to say but he’s proven everyone wrong.
The beast continues to hit and should be in the lineup day in and day out. But before this story developed, Gattis had a list of minor jobs after he quit baseball for a couple year and before picking back up a baseball bat. Do we really know the entire list though of jobs he can put on his resume?
