The Atlanta Braves 2013 do-all play-all man was injured in Sunday’s game against the Dodgers on Sunday afternoon.  While trying to make a play in the field, Ramiro Pena tweaked his shoulder.  This did not look to serious but the Braves removed him from the game and replaced him with Chris Johnson.

After the game, skipper Fredi Gonzalez told the media “It’s nothing major, just didn’t want to risk it”.

Even without all the information (probably didn’t get the full run down of the severity of the injury when the presser happened) this is a good sign that Gonzalez didn’t think the injury was long term or DL worthy.

Below is what David O’Brien tweeted last night when he received further updates….

"Pena is day-to-day with what #Braves think is mild shoulder contusion or bruise. From his second diving defensive play"

Let’s hope Pena didn’t do anything major to his shoulder, as a former separated shoulder enlisty, shoulder injuries aren’t a walk in the park and take time to heal.  This could just be a real mild strain of the shoulder but I expect him to miss a couple days to let this heal properly.
