Injury Update: Jordan Schafer

Unable to see any relief from the pain, Jordan Schafer was given an MRI examination today to see if there wasn’t something worse going on with his sore ankle that X-Rays didn’t reveal.

There was.

As just reported by the Braves and confirmed via several media sources, Schafer has a stress fracture in his right ankle.  For certain, he will be out for another month… and more likely longer since baseball activities will have to be curtailed until he gets clearance.  He has already been on the shelf for a couple of weeks – which makes for 2 weeks of a 6 week recovery just for the bone to heal.

I suppose Joey Terdoslavich may continue to be in Atlanta for a bit.  Hurry back, Evan.
