Freddie Freeman suffered a thumb injury in last Saturday’s game against Cincinnati Reds, on a play at first base as he reached for a poor throw from Andrelton Simmons. It was soon determined that the injury would be too severe to risk playing in the All-Star game and his return was questionable.
Freddie Freeman had a swollen, sore thumb, and was unable to swing a bat…or maybe not allowed.
David O’Brien’s colleague Carroll tweeted this out this morning
"Free was cleared by Braves Dr. Lourie to take dry swings and hit off the tee today. If responds well he hopes to play Friday or Saturday."
Good news out of Braves camp for one of our injured stars, hopefully we hear more about the rest of our wounded warriors.
