**UPDATE** Atlanta Braves Tim Hudson “Severe” Injury

facebooktwitterreddit

Tim Hudson has left tonight’s game in the 8th inning after his foot was stepped on by New York Mets Eric Young.  Hudson was trying to cover first base on a ground ball to Freddie Freeman.  He had already received the ball in his glove when Young came and step square onto the top of Hudson’s ankle.  Hudddy went to the ground with tremendous pain gleaming from his eyes.

This looked like a very severe injury as he was charted off the field by the medical staff.  Hudson was pitching a terrific game as he got the second out of the 8th inning when the injury occurred.  Tim was able to pick up nine strikeouts and was trying to his first complete game of the season.

This will obviously put a left turn in the Braves season and rotation.  From first glance and without any updates from the medical staff, Hudson looks like he may be out for a while and possibly ending his 2013 season.

If you haven’t seen the injury, here you go but before you click it is not for the weak

Here are a couple reactions from Twitter

Tim Hudson is one of the game’s great pros: Great teammate, great person. Let’s hope for the best.

As soon as Hudson was carted off the field, Braves coaching staff turned attention to his wife Kim, who was escorted to the clubhouse.

This looks bad for Tim Hudson. Eric Young stepped on Hudson‘s ankle as he crossed first base. He is still on the ground.

#Braves Hudson‘s right ankle turned grotesquely when he got stepped on by Eric Young as Young crossed first base with Hudson covering.

Hoping and praying for the best possible news for Huddy! Didn’t look good but hopefully not as bad as video showed. Luh ya bruh!

****UPDATE****

The #Braves announced Hudson has a right ankle fracture. He’ll undergo surgery in Atlanta when he swelling subsides.
