Pastornicky: Torn ACL/Out for Year

Mandatory Credit: Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

The Atlanta Braves have reported that 2B/Utility infielder Tyler Pastornicky is out for the year with a torn ACL, and will have surgery on Monday to fix it.  More later when we learn the roster move (or trade) to replace him (please see this update:  Phil Gosselin from AAA Gwinnett).

Freddie Freeman just tweeted out this photo of a bummin’ Pastornicky in the clubhouse this afternoon (and yes, that’s a ‘Suffer in Silence’ t-shirt he’s wearing!):  gotta use it…

The message here is do not collide with Jason Heyward, you’ll come off worse for the collision. I am really shocked and saddened by this injury to Rev. I always liked his spirit and it’s sad that when he gets his shot he’s now seriously injured. What a shame.
