We Miss You Already JHey, Get Well Soon!

Braves Nation was devastated earlier this week when Jason Heyward was struck by a Jonathan Niese fastball to the side of his face and then even more crushed by the news he’d probably miss the rest of the 2013 regular season and possibly the playoffs.

Playoffs?? Playoffs??…oh Jim Mora

But back to what I was saying…The JHey kid was just coming alive in 2013 and bringing his team with him.  After moving Heyward to the leadoff spot in the lineup, the Braves were on a tear and taking no prisoners.  They extended their lead in the NL East to 15.5 games ahead of Washington and pulled away with the best record in baseball.

But since the injury to Heyward, the Braves are 0-2…now don’t give up on this team and think I am at all because we still have a very good team and great talent to fill in for the recovering JHey but to lose a great guy like him is tough for the organization.

Heyward is a one of a kind guy that presents the attitude to make everyone around him better.  He is a very unselfish person and seems like he has one vision…to make the Atlanta Braves better.

If you haven’t read Jason’s message to his fans, check out Chris’ post here

Below are only a couple pieces that show the support and love for Heyward as Braves players and personalities spoke on JHey and the injury…Get well buddy, we miss you already!!

Freddie Freeman after Friday nights game

“It’s going to take more than two games.  Jason was a huge loss.  He’s not a replaceable player.  What he does in the outfield and what he’s been doing — he’s pretty much carried us the last three weeks. It’s a tough break.  But we’re going to have to tread water without him and hopefully come back tomorrow and put some runs up on the board.”
