It’s a shame Loe cannot get his game together. I root for him because he’s such a likable guy, good family man, and a Christian. He’s had it rough for years traveling and having his family live out of suitcases.

      No arguments there.

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

So…. runners 1st/2nd, 1 out. Mets winning 5-0, top 5th. Top of the order back up again (4th trip through the order).

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

Strikeout – first of the day.

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

The Chicago Cubs have claimed Daniel Bard, and added him to their 40-man roster.

    • cheadrick

      Well, they can have him.

      • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

No risk whatsoever; especially this time of the year.

        • cheadrick

No, I think he’s around a 9 ERA, so if they can turn his game around again, more power to them.

          • cheadrick

Heard they outrighted Eduardo Garcia, who can pitch, but has had lots of health issues.

  • cheadrick

Freddie Garcia reminds me of an aged wrestler in the Mexican Wresting leagues.

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

comebacker off Garcia’s glove – unable to get the runner at first. That loads ‘em up. Checking Garcia, but he’s likely okay.

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

Strikeout. END 5TH. All runners stranded again (there have been 15 runners for the Mets through 5 innings. Only 5 have scored.)

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

Well, if a tropical storm suddenly crops up, it’s not yet an official game for 3 more outs.

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

Fredi (the ‘Gonzalez’ variety) didn’t bother to double-switch: Uggla to start, Janish and then probably Garcia to follow.

  • cheadrick

    That’ll work Dan

    • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

      Solid single.

  • cheadrick

    Be a free swinger Paul!

    • cheadrick

      That’ll work too!

    • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

There ya go. 1st and 3rd!

  • cheadrick

Garcia ain’t no slouch with the bat

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

Bunted – Janish advanced to 2nd. 1 out.

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

Braves playing with 3 Johnsons (only using one), 3 Freddies (Freddie, Freddy, Fredi; using all three), two Uptons… and precious little ‘O’.

  • cheadrick

Now B.J… here’s a solid chance to show your upswing aint the fluke I think it is…… Oh well, sac will do.

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

BJ – High/deep to RC – Uggla SCORES on a sac fly RBI. 5-1

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

Justin thrown out on a grounder up the middle. END 5TH. Mets up 5-1.

  • cheadrick

And commercial break is in progress… ;-)

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

I guess Dice-K is done in the Mets pen.

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

Garcia back out there to eat innings… 3-0 to start; 3-2 now.
Oh man – hits Garcia on the leg… out recorded at first. Checking on him (again).
Seems to be okay, I guess.

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

Grounder to third: Ej knocks it down and retires Turner. 2 down.

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

grounder to third again: 3 up/3 down. First time the Braves’ defense has accomplished this today. Middle of the 6th: 1-5 Mets.

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

    BOT 6th: Freeman/Gattis/Laird.
Flyout to warning track in LCenter. 1 out.

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

Gattis trying his best to take out the media booths with foul balls.

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

Big curve gets Gattis again. 2 down.

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

    Another strikeout – that’s 5 overall; twice that Gattis/Laird have gone back-to-back w/K’s. END 6th.

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

Groundout to Janish – this has been a pretty good sign from Garcia – getting a bunch of them so far.

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

    Groundout to second. 2 down.

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

Pop-out to Janish in foul ground. Order Has Been Restored.
    Stretch time.

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

    BOTTOM 7TH: Elliot…Uggs…Janish.

Infield single for EJohnson. If they can get 1 of these next 2 guys on, then maybe it isn’t entirely over.

  • cheadrick

Sorry had to eat my lunch unencumbered.

    • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

I can understand that it would have been difficult while Loe was still pitching.

      • cheadrick

Or rather, every second Dan is in the game.

        • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

          There is that.

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

Johnson has been running on a couple of pitches, but Uggla flies out (way high) to the LF corner. 1 down.

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

Janish flies out to CF… Joey T will now PH for Garcia.

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

Fly to shallow center on a 2-2 count… side retired.
Going to the 8th… it’s still 5-1 Mets as Elliot is stranded.

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

Anthony Varvaro out for the 8th.
Gets first batter on a comebacker.

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

Murphy flies out to center – nice to get him out…
Brown up – may be working around him: 3-0, now 3-1. Strike 2: full count.
    Alas – walked him…. 2 down.

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

Duda fans to end the Mets’ half of the eighth.
Both Uptons are due up, then Freeman… after a message from somebody else’s sponsors :)

    • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

Neglected to mention Vic Black replaced Gee for the 8th.

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

BOT 8th: BJ fouls out to first.

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

Popout to SS for Justin. They’re going way too quietly.

  • fireboss

I arrived in time for the wake it seems.

    • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

      Maybe not: HOMER FREDDIE. 5-2.

      Where you been??? :)

      • fireboss

        Work damn it

        • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

          ditto. That pesky lottery…

  • fireboss

Well I should have come sooner. Freddie killed that

  • cheadrick

Well it ain’t over until Gattis sings.

  • fireboss

They’ve decided gattis can’t hit a curve on the inside… but they look to be wrong

    • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

He missed 2 for strikeouts earlier. Bear Learns.

      • fireboss

Black tried 3 in a row and that was one too many

        • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

That or his isn’t nearly as good as Gee’s was.

          • fireboss

Last one sort of hung, didn’t break as much and probably wasn’t a strike but Gattis recognized it and killed it

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

Huh. Gattis with a DOUBLE. 2 out uprising.

  • cheadrick

    Gattis just sang

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

Gattis to third on a wild pitch to Laird.

  • fireboss

That swing took a very strong man to execute

  • cheadrick

Can’t pitch Gattis in. He don’t jam easily. He was jammed in on that homer last night.

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

Duda catches a pop-up in foul ground to end the inning with Gattis stranded on third.

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

TO THE NINTH. Mets up 5-2. Braves will bring Varvaro back out.
