Live Thread: Braves Phillies (Game 2)
Live Game Thread – Braves Vs. Phillies – Game 2
I think last night’s game was the only game I’ve missed all year. I’m on vacation. My friends and colleagues will tell you I’ve said the word “vacation” in emails, posts, texts, and pretty much everything but a billboard sign in the last few days. It’s just that I SO needed this time off work. Oh well, I’ve still got a couple days left on my VACATION, but I’m more or less back to form, and ready to re-join tonight’s Live Thread for the Braves @ Phillies, Game 2. Might be just as well I missed last night’s game.
My understanding from Fred Owens though, is that it was a good game that could’ve went either way, with a couple mistakes by both pitchers, the game just happening to go the Phillies way. Perhaps the Braves will get some redemption tonight with Alex Wood on the mound facing Philadelphia’s Kyle Kendrick.
Both pitchers have struggled lately. Wood gave up a season-high seven runs and eight hits in just under three innings of work in his last outing, a 7-0 shutout at the hands of Miami. He’ll hope to get back on track. Similarly, Kendrick will hope to improve on his last recent four game losing streak. Kendrick has gone just 1-6 with a 6.31 ERA over his last eight games and has thrown six innings or fewer in his last nine starts.
Probables
Atlanta: Wood (3-3, 3.15 ERA)
Philadelphia: Kendrick (10-12, 4.51 ERA)
