Live From LA!

No, we’re not really in LA, but our hearts are – hearts completely behind the Braves for an LA sweep and NLDS Title!  This is one of those rare circumstances where the Braves are on the road, which is not so good, but where you don’t want them to return to Atlanta to play another game!  If they can sweep the games in LA, they’ll return to Atlanta as NLDS Title holders.

The Atlanta Braves are in Los Angeles now for games 3 and 4 of the NLDS.  At Turner Field, the Dodgers took game 1 behind the stellar pitching of Clayton Kershaw, and the less then stellar, and unusually shaky outing of the Braves’ Kris Medlen.  Atlanta came back with a flourish in game 2 though behind good pitching from Mike Minor, despite the Dodgers having Zack Greinke on the bump.

In LA tonight, rookie Julio Teheran will start for the Atlanta Braves, and so far we’ve heard no change in the Dodger’s plan to use Hyun-jin Ryu.  Ryu has nursed a sore elbow, and his doctors recently watched him throw a bullpen session, but the LA front office insists that Ryu will be good to go tonight.  For a look at what we might expect from Ryu, take a look at my analysisposted earlier today.
