Braves and Winter Meetings: Live Threads

facebooktwitterreddit

As our own Jeff Schafer noted here, the December session of Major League Baseball’s Winter Meetings will begin Monday and run through Thursday (Deccember 9th to 12th) at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort in Orlando, Florida .

While we’ve seen a bevy of activity from other clubs, the Atlanta Braves have been as quiet as a church mouse on Easter.  Their lack of activity is not all that unusual, as Frank Wren tends to sit back and see what other clubs are going to do before making any moves.  Even then, those moves aren’t normally that significant, at least in my opinion.

The first set of Winter Meetings last month yielded no moves of note, but the December meetings could well see the Atlanta Braves making some trades to strengthen their starting pitching rotation, bullpen, and possibly the infield.  Each year these winter meetings give GMs, managers, and the like a chance to get together and talk face-to-face, shop players needed, and players teams might be looking to offload.

Only time will tell whether the Braves make any significant moves during the meetings, but we’ll be doing a Live Thread every day for December’s Winter Meetings.  Our Live threads are open to everyone, and we encourage fans to join us, and join in on the discussion of possible trades, actual trades, and even dream trades.  We’ll speculate, rant, rave, and provide analysis, and we love it when visitors join us to do the same.

You can comment with a Disqus account, or comment as a guest, but we’d love to hear your thoughts as developments occur throughout the Winter Meetings.  Keep your eyes open for our Live Threads beginning Monday morning.  We look forward to chatting with you.
