After losing their first two games of the 2013 round robin Dominican Republic Winter League playoffs, Aguilas Cibaenas is now on a winning streak. Sunday they defeated Escogido and now Monday they defeated Licey 14-3.
Terdo went 3-4 with two doubles, two runs scored, two RBIs and a walk. He’s now batting .467 for the playoffs. The last two games Joey has batted 5th in the lineup and serving as the teams DH. The first two games of the playoffs he played first base. A couple infield errors in the box score during those games but since these games aren’t televised, I can’t tell if a play could of been made at first.
Either way, Joey’s bat continues to be an essential part to this lineup.
Ex-Brave, now Milwaukee Brewers, Juan Francisco hit a solo home run in the 2nd inning to put Licey on the board early.
Atlanta Braves prospect, got things going in the 5th inning with a leadoff walk and then the next batter, Juan Perez blasted a home run. Then in the 6th inning, down 3-2, Terdo comes thru with two outs and two runners on with a huge double scoring both. This gave Aguilas the lead and they never looked back.
Down 3-0 in the bottom of the 5th inning, Aguilas put two runs in the 5th, two in the 6th, three in the 7th and seven runs in the 8th inning to cap off the victory.
On the other side of the scoreboard, Escogido defeats Gigantes 2-0 with the only two runs scoring in the bottom of the 7th inning. Pedro Florimon reaches on a throwing error by shortstop Hector Gomez and Miguel Olivo was able to score. Then Jose Constanza doubles on a sharp ground ball to left field and Florimon scored.
Atlanta Brave, Constanza finished the night 3-4 with a double and an RBI. He’s batting .294 in the playoffs.
All four teams in the Liga de Beisbol Dominicano playoffs are now 2-2
