A special Happy Birthday to our second basemen, Dan Uggla today!

Mr. Uggla turned 34 years young as of March 11th.  Is there a better way to spend your birthday than to be with your major league teammates in sunny, warm Florida?  Well, possibly if you’re Dan Uggla.

Uggla hit a home run today against the Phillies for the second consecutive game.  He hit the bomb in the fifth-inning against right-hander Sean O’Sullivan.  This catapulted the Braves offense to a 9-1 Braves win at Champion Stadium.

Today Uggla went 2-3 at the plate and now has a .318 batting average for the 2014 Spring Training.

“This year, it’s nice to have some results,” he said. “I’m still adjusting to live pitching and everything, just like everybody is. Like I say, I’m not putting too much emphasis on spring training. But the way I feel and the way I’m attacking the ball and having solid at-bats, it’s different than years past. I’m not just going through the motions. I’m working on stuff.”
