We’ve covered the injuries of the Atlanta Braves this season and most are getting quite agitated as they pile on early in 2014.  Some are more severe than others but injuries are injuries and they are never enjoyable.

During Sundays Spring Training game against the New York Yankees Ryan Doumit, while playing catcher, took a foul ball right off his hand.  Looking at the tweets, it sounds like a point blank hit to his right hand.  Ryan’s hand was exposed when the pitch came in instead of behind his back or by his leg.

Though not a pivotal spot in the Atlanta Braves lineup, he’s projected to be a quality bat off the bench and help catch in tight situations or other injuries happen.  The 32-year-old has appeared in 13 games this spring hitting .226/.294/.323 with two RBIs and a stolen base.

Hopefully this injury isn’t to severe but count on his hand swelling up and Doumit having to sit a couple days.  If it is a broken hand, than this could be a painful loss for the Braves bench.

The Braves have also pulled Freddie Freeman from Sunday’s game.  This may be precautionary but this would be ALL fans nightmare
