Bring Your Green Hat – Old School

The Atlanta Braves game against the Houston Astros ended early on Monday afternoon because of a nonstop downpour.  The game ended in the bottom of the 5th inning with the score 4-0 Braves leading.

Alex Wood started on the mound for Atlanta as he went five complete innings striking out six hitters and only giving up two hits and one walk.  Though the game was shortened, Wood picked up his first victory of 2014.  He has yet to give up a single run this spring as he fights for a starting spot in the rotation.

Ramiro Pena continued his hot spring going 1-3 with a run scored, his average sits at .344 for the spring.  Evan Gattis picked up two hits and raised his batting average to .225 for the spring.

Dan Uggla had one of his best games we’ve seen from him in quite awhile.  On Monday he went 2-2 with a home run, a triple, three RBIs and a run scored.  Uggla is now batting .273 for the spring and looks like he has more confidence at the plate.

St. Patrick’s Day sent the rain to most of the southeastern part of the country and canceled, delayed, or suspended most Spring Training games.  But the rain didn’t stop the tweets…..
