Harang was of course signed just two days ago, the signing coinciding with the release of Freddy Garcia. The Braves are banking better “stuff” from Harang, and today is the first test in this experiment. Harang is slated to be the Braves 3rd starter to open the season.

The Rev is up. Don’t like that nickname, but it’s a lot shorter than ‘Pastornicky’.
2-2 count. Strikeout. Joe Nathan is still out there.

Trying to multi-task :) No one really can, and that’s a scientific fact, but I can pretend as good as anyone.

    • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

      It’s a time-slicing thing.

    He’s not throwing real hard

    • http://www.tomahawktake.com/ Chris Headrick

He’s taking a lot off every pitch.

      • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

Tends to be a slow starter… gets into form by early May.

        • http://www.tomahawktake.com/ Chris Headrick

Must not have been Fredi’s plan to have him throw easy, because he gets replaced, and Craig looked dejected. I didn’t catch his speed, but my eye test told me he was easy does it with the pill.

          • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

            around 94 I heard.

          • http://www.tomahawktake.com/ Chris Headrick

Someone on twitter said they were clocking him at around 91. I dunno, but he was not throwing his usually “hard”

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

    2 RBI hit. 9-3 Det… new pitcher.

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

      #99

      • http://www.tomahawktake.com/ Chris Headrick

Hrmmm don’t know either… they mentioned his name, but I didn’t catch it… not many players totally elude me, but that one does. Chasen, Jason, Scheees something like that… didn’t catch it at all.

        • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

Jason Hursh, perhaps? Which would be a little surprising.

          • http://www.tomahawktake.com/ Chris Headrick

Nah wasnt Hursh… im googling like a mad man now lol

          • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

“Shreve” according to Gamneday….Chasen Shreve… you were right.

          • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

I will now call him Steve Chase from this point forward. His parents were obviously confused.

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

Gosselin to Pastornicky – out at 2nd. Challenge to occur.

    • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

      Challenge UPHELD… Runner safe.

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

Bases loaded. Gosselin is given an error.

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

Schafer almost blows a catch – wind doesn’t help him. END 8th. 9-3 Detroit.

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

Gameday is totally confused… thinks Atlanta is already batting.

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

Corey Knebel (“Ca-nable”) pitching for Detroit. Power arm… they like him. Supplemental 1st round pick in 2013.

    • http://www.tomahawktake.com/ Chris Headrick

Yeah word on him is a great ability to keep the ball down consistently.

  • http://www.tomahawktake.com/ Chris Headrick

    Send the cops! Robbery

    • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

      sounded like it.

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

And there’s your ball game. 9-3 Detroit.

  • http://www.tomahawktake.com/ Chris Headrick

Well, that’s a wrap on that final game of spring, at least on TV I think, for the Braves. In short, this is our final thread I think until the season starts.

    • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

Been a pleasure. Cheers – and enjoy the dish.

      • http://www.tomahawktake.com/ Chris Headrick
