Honoring Hank Aaron!

Tonight, the Atlanta Braves will honor and remember the greatest achievement for a player in Atlanta Braves’ history (and arguably in all of MLB history) – the 40th Anniversary of the 715th home run for Hammerin’ Hank Aaron, the home run that knocked the great Babe Ruth back a step in the record books, and cemented a lasting legacy for Mr. Aaron.  In my opinion, Hank Aaron is the best baseball player to EVER play the game!

A Special Braves Live! Pregame show is on as I write this, on SportSouth, and so even if you were unable to get to the Braves’ home opener tonight, you can see the organization and world, pay tribute to Hank Aaron.  At Tomahawk Take, we’ve already written a couple of pieces about Hank today.  Benjamin Chase wrote Remember Hank And His Moment, and Alan Carpenter wrote What If 715 Had Happend Today?

Preview and Live Thread

Tonight’s game is the first of a three game set against the visiting New York Mets, and is the home opener for our beloved Braves.  Brandon Woodworth wrote up a preview of the series, so check it out and then join us in our Live Thread tonight, as we talk about the game, and share our memories and thoughts about the absolute greatest player to ever wear not just a Braves’ jersey, but any jersey!

Don’t be shy!  Just scroll down below to our Disquis comment section, and let us know how you feel about Hank Aaron, the Braves, the season so far, or any expectations and hopes that you have for the 2014 season.  We love you Hank, and Go Braves!
