Tomahawk Take Editorial Note: On Sunday, the Braves took the series and got the brooms out against a very good team in the Cincinnati Reds.  Back by great pitching and timely hits the Braves improved to 17-7 for the 2014 season.  Now, we make the trip to Miami to face the Marlins.

Braves’ new-look rotation thriving in first month

Tomahawk Take Editorial Note: The pitching for the Braves has been out of this world good, but will it last or is this just an early season occurrence? Well, we all hope it lasts but Fredi Gonzalez and Frank Wren must be optimistic and have a plan.  Insert the names of Mike Minor and Gavin Floyd.  With these guys almost ready to return, the questions hover.

"Minor, who was a projected top starter, is expected to come off the disabled list this week.Rookie David Hale could lose his spot, but it’s no easy decision for Gonzalez. Hale is 1-0 with a 2.31 ERA in four starts and is coming off an outstanding win. Hale allowed only two hits over eight innings in a 4-1 win over the Reds on Saturday night, facing the minimum 21 batters over his last seven innings.A tough call?“Sure,” Gonzalez said. “We’re pitching well, we’re playing well. You don’t want to disrupt that.”"

WHAT DOES #SMELLBASEBALL EVEN MEAN?

Tomahawk Take Editorial Note: Almost ever tweet from Ervin Santana has this saying….#SMELLBASEBALL.  Ever wonder what the heck that meant?  Well, like most of us, your answer was yes!  Fox 5 Atlanta played Sherlock Holmes and tried to understand the meaning behind this hashtag.

"Braves starter Ervin Santana has been dominant on the mound so far this season, and his excitement has spilled over onto Twitter with his favorite hashtag, #SmellBaseball. Some of his Braves teammates were asked what it meant, and they had no idea. But as Santana explained, passion for baseball equals smelling the baseball. So there’s that."
