Atlanta Braves VS. Milwaukee Brewers: Live Thread

Live Thread Series Thoughts

The Milwaukee Brewers are in town at Turner Field to take on our beloved, but struggling Atlanta Braves.  The Braves’ struggles are nothing new to fans, as we’ve seen them blow it time after time, particularly with the RISP stat.  Atlanta pitching has hiccuped some as well, but has held pretty steady, and the Braves’ tentative lead in the NL East would certainly be by a larger margin if not for an almost insufferably pathetic offensive.  Sorry, I call em’ like I sees em’!

The Milwaukee Brewers are playing well, sitting comfortably atop the NL Central with a four game lead over their nearest competition, the St. Louis Cardinals, who by the way almost swept the Braves in their last series.  The Atlanta Braves won the opening series of the season against the Brew Crew, taking 2 out of those 3 games back on March 31st and following, but the Brewers are a different, improved, and much more cohesive ball team than they were back in late March/Early April.  The Braves will have to play much better than they have of late to see the same outcome against Milwaukee this go-around.

It’s great to see the Braves back home at Turner Field though, as those road trips always are doubly wearing on a team when they’re not playing well.  My hope is that the return home to familiar confines will put some much needed juice back in their offense.  We shall see.

I won’t bore with you the game details, but will encourage you to check our own Brandon Woodworth’s Series Preview before the game, and then join us for our Live Thread tonight as we discuss the game,  and all things Atlanta Braves!
