Atlanta Braves Will Wear A New Paint Scheme For Memorial Day Game
By Jeff Schafer
The Atlanta Braves announced early Sunday that they will wear a commemorative military hat for Monday’s Memorial Day game. Memorial Day is a great time to celebrate all the sacrifices that have been made by the folks who have served in the armed forces and this is just one of the small gestures the Braves will make.
This is great that the Braves are taking the extra step in saying thank you but is this the right step?
I get it, a business is a business but when I see a new hat or a new jersey come out, all I can think about is the profits that the team store would make in sales. That’s why I believe that teams are more than OK to put these new items on the field.
So my theory would be to give the men and women who served in our armed forces and their family members a free ticket to Monday’s game. This would not only say thank you but also would show that the team truly appreciates their duties.
They may already do this, I haven’t researched or I am not a veteran but this could be something very nice of the Braves to do in the future. Yes, they would lose lots money in this single game with free tickets but it could make a fan for live with the family members who attend.
