The 2014 MLB Draft is underway and here at the Take we’re ready to discuss all the moves as they happen. Fans perceive that the Braves  has needs but the in the MLB Draft teams usually take the best player whatever their needs may be because unlike other sports it can be two, three or more years before the player gets to the big leagues. • fireboss

Rumor is Braxton davidson and if you read mhy post today he’s teh one that made no sense at all

    • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

Agree…I didn’t even mention him due to no serious consideration. Like ‘none’.

Not all all happy with that pick.

    • http://www.tomahawktake.com/ Chris Headrick

But he has upside with the bat, so it could be worse.

      • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

Only if we can trade him. Or hope he can play LF.

  • fireboss

I swear to Jesus Wren waits for me to write something then does the opposite. This is a pathetically stupid pick

    hehe perfect game’s servers crashed

  • http://tomahawktake.com/ carpengui

Only thing I can figure is that they don’t trust the arms of the upper tier pitchers.

    • fireboss

Or the bat of Gatewood or the best athlete in the draft in Harrison.. silly

  • http://www.tomahawktake.com/ Chris Headrick

Well, Law says he has no wasted motion in his swing, hits well for power, has hit as far as 500 feet, so he has great power potential with that bat… something the Braves can use, like him or not. Scouts clearly liked something, and that’s probably it.

Sounds like his hit tool is Freddie Freeman with more power. We’ll see.

Can we start using the DH now?

  • http://www.tomahawktake.com/ Chris Headrick

Well, I’m long overdue for ball. Analysis I’m sure will follow with this any other picks. Nite gentleman.

    • http://www.tomahawktake.com/ Chris Headrick

      for bed… yawn

    • fireboss

      Gnite

Garrett Fulenchek. Was not on my radar since he’s a RHP, but I can see why they picked him: did not abuse his arm, I hear.

    • fireboss

Yea ground ball pitcher who they hope they can groom into more than a 4th or 5th starter. What caught my eye was He improved to standout in the WORST class of talent from the lone star state in recent years. Adn they passed on Reid-Foley, Adams and others
