A young man by the name of Braxton Davidson from T C Roberson High School in Asheville, North Carolina was selected by the Atlanta Braves in the 2014 MLB draft.  The life of an 18-year-old just change immensely.

Davidson was committed to the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill but after being selected 32nd overall by the Braves, he has decided to go professional.  Nowadays, teams usually go with a for sure lock with their first pick that the player selected will sign a contract with their team and not go to collage…BUT it’s not given.

Well, now we can say Braxton Davidson is a member of the Atlanta Braves organization!

Braxton signed his contract on Monday as he attended batting practice at Turner Field with the Braves MLB team.

David O’Brien reported that the deal is worth $1.705 million for the young ball player.

Braxton is listed at 6-foot-3, 220 pounds.  He was selected as a corner outfielder or first basemen with a powerful bat, a big arm and sturdy frame.

Thanks to a couple media folks, we got to get a inside look at Davidson’s batting practice on Turner Field.

Braxton spoke to media after hitting on the field and when asked about hitting on the field and with the team he said “Fantastic.  I’m speechless”.

Keep an eye on this guy in the minors as you know we will…he’ll be fun to watch growing up in the Braves organization.
