Atlanta Braves catcher, Evan Gattis, turns 28-years-old today (August 18) and gets to celebrate in Pittsburgh when the Braves travel to PNC Park to take on the Pirates.

The 6’4″, 260 lb has a slash line of .275/.329/.508 for the 2014 season.  Gattis has 18 home runs, 15 doubles, 47 RBIs, and 34 runs scored for the Atlanta Braves.

El Oso Blanco got the start on his birthday in 2013 but went 0-3 with a strikeout.  Hopefully he can have a more impressive day today at the plate.

Braves vs the Pirates on Monday will feature pitchers Ervin Santana vs Vance Worley.  The Pirates have lost five straight games while the Braves are coming off sweeping the A’s.

Evan last had a day off on August 14th and played the entire series against the A’s.  He’ll probably be in the starting lineup for his birthday.

Happy Birthday Evan!  Hope you help the Braves win  tonight
