Tomahawk Take Editor’s Notes:  A great chance to pick up a few games, the Braves lose two out of three to Miami.  The offense continues to struggle to put up runs while the pitching usually keeps the Braves in games.  Teheran lasted only 5.1 innings on Sunday giving up four runs on eight hits but the Braves offense looked like they were facing one of the best pitchers in MLB history….they weren’t, it was Brad Hand

Braves offense blanked again in loss to Marlins

Tomahawk Take Editor’s Notes: The Braves don’t have that much more time to get things rolling.  They are now seven games behind Washington and a half game out of the wildcard.  You’d like them to at least get hot in the last few weeks of the season if somehow they do make it into the playoffs.

"WITH 19 GAMES REMAINING, THE CONCEPT OF RUN SUPPORT REMAINS FOREIGN TO THIS BRAVES OFFENSEThe Atlanta Braves have been held under two runs in a quarter of their 143 games played this season, and yet they entered Sunday afternoon tied for the National Leagye’s final wildcard spot. Their 4-0 loss to the Marlins not only guaranteed the franchise its first losing record to Miami — and a Miami team that played without superstar Jose Fernandez for most of the year, no less — since 2009, but it handed this lackluster offense its 13th shutout of the campaign. That left manager Fredi Gonzalez‘s club with another missed opportunity and more frustration. This team’s identity is set in stone. The Braves are just banking on one final offense surge, even if it’s for five or 10 games, to push them into the playoffs."

Braves brace for showdown in Washington

Tomahawk Take Editor’s Notes:  A great chance for the Braves to get back into this NL East discussions happen this week as the Braves take on the Washington Nationals.  The showdown with these two teams will happen this week as well as in the middle of September.  Braves play well against the Nationals so we’ll see if they can get things rolling.

"The Atlanta Braves begin a pivotal three-game series in the National League East on Monday when they travel to Washington to face the Nationals.Washington leads Atlanta by seven games in the division race. After the set at Nationals Park this week, the teams square off three more times, Sept. 15-17, at Turner Field. The Braves are scuffling of late, losing four of their last five. They scored 15 runs in their past eight games, which includes being shut out four times. Atlanta lost 4-0 Sunday at Miami, where the Marlins took two of three in a weekend series."
