Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note:  Mike Minor pitched another great game on Monday night as he went six innings giving up only two runs on seven hits.  Since being shut down at the start of August, Minor has found his groove.  Individuals continue to play well for the Braves but we can not get the entire team to contribute simultaneously.

Fister, Nats quiet Braves, 2-1, to cut magic number to win NL East to 12

Tomahawk Take Editor’s Notes:  The season is 18 games away from being complete for the Atlanta Braves…unless somehow they can get hot and put some runs on the board.  The pitching and defense have been there all season for the Braves but the streaky offense is nauseating.  Don’t give up hope because baseball is a strange game that can take us anywhere.  If the Braves can find a way to win these next two games against the Nationals….we still have a shot.

"The Nationals’ victory came with a set of moments and decisions fit for October. The Nationals scored a pivotal insurance run in the seventh when Braves second baseman Tommy La Stella bobbled Anthony Rendon’s groundball just enough for Rendon to beat out a double play. The Nationals survived another rally in the eighth inning by using three pitchers — ruffling setup man Tyler Clippard along the way — and stranding the tying run on third base. Drew Storen stated his case to keep the closer’s role for good, striking out all three hitters he faced while the crowd chanted, “Droooo!”The frayed nerves did not thing to dampen the Nationals’ critical victory. They improved to 6-8 against the Braves, and despite the head-to-head results, the Nationals can bury them with one more victory over the next two days. At worst, the Nationals will begin a 10-day trip Thursday — including three games in Atlanta — with a six-game lead with just 18 games remaining."

Braves will open 2015 season at Miami; Yankees return to Atlanta

Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note:  Your Atlanta Braves once again won’t open the season playing in front of the home crowd.  Maybe in 2017 when we open the new stadium the Braves will play at home on opening day.  Some key home match ups are June 17-18 and Aug 28-30 which are against the Red Sox and the Yankees.  With the 2014 season itching closer and closer to an end, fans may be anticipating a 2015 season already.

"The Braves will open the 2015 season against the Marlins in Miami on April 6 and play the Mets in their April 10 home opener at Turner Field. It’ll be the second year in a row and fourth time in five seasons that the Braves open on the road. They play three games against the Marlins April 6-8 and have a day off before a six-game homestand against the Mets (April 10-12) and Marlins (April 13-15), then dive into interleague play with a three-game series at Toronto (April 17-19)."
