Atlanta Braves Freddie Freeman AND Fredi Gonzalez Thrown Out Of Game VIDEO

The Atlanta Braves lost their first baseman, Freddie Freeman, and their Manager, Fredi Gonzalez in one play.

Freeman was at the plate against Stephen Strasburg on Monday night in the bottom of the 6th inning when home plate umpire Tim Timmons called a very questionable third strike.  Strasburg threw his famous curveball on the outside of the plate and Timmons thought it caught more of the plate than it actually did.

Thanks to MLB Gameday, we’re able to see just where the ball registered at…yes I know this technology isn’t always the most accurate tell all but it shows you what Freddie was upset about.

After the seventh pitch of the at-bat and being very frustrated after an apparent third strike, Freeman slammed his bat on the ground and looked back at Timmons.  Home plate umpire Timmons quickly ejected Freddie.

“I just thought it was a ball and after looking at it…it was a ball,” said Freddie after the game.  “It’s just kind of the way things have been going, you get a bad call right there and unfortunately I let frustrations take over.”

“I didn’t say a word, not even a ‘are you serious Tim’…not a word came out of my mouth.  I guess I shouldn’t of slammed my bat,” Freeman said.

After Freeman’s ejection, Fredi Gonzalez hurried out to “help” his player and was also ejected after getting his thoughts out in the air to Timmons and kicking some dirt.

“No, I think it was ball four,” Fredi said after the game when asked if Freddie’s frustrations were just boiling over.  “Really he just slammed his bat and never said a word to him (Timmons).  I was just trying to get out there and keep him in the game.  I said what I said…they can play the game without the manager, they can’t play without their three hitter.”

Prior to the at-bat, Freddie was 1-2 for the night against Strasburg.  He’s one of the few bright spots for the Braves offense and we need him in the lineup.
