Atlanta Braves Hitting Coach Greg Walker Resigned

Atlanta Braves hitting coach, Greg Walker, has officially resigned of his duties Tuesday afternoon.  Walker spent three years with the organization.  2014 was a miserable season for the Braves at the plate and the finger is being pointed at Walker.

We saw this move coming following the season and we knew about a staff meeting that was suppose to happen on Wednesday with John Hart and Fredi Gonzalez.  That meeting may have happened early or Walker just said “I give up”.  Do you think Fredi went in to talk with Hart and to save his job he put the blame on Walker?

We’ll never know the exact words that came out of meetings but on Monday Fredi told David O’Brien when he asked do you think coaching decision will happen before your future is determined?

“I think after Wednesday we’ll know some stuff. It’s so easy to blame the coaches, in any sport. And they understand. That’s what we signed up for. Would I like to keep my staff? Absolutely. Is that going to happen? I’ll call you as soon as I get out of the meeting.”
