Cobb county commissioner defensive, full of crap regarding details about the Braves new ballpark deal

Tomahawk Take Editor’s Notes:  This new stadium has brought up many stories this year.  Particularly folks angry over what the new stadium entails.  COBB Commission Chairmen, Tim Lee, has voiced his opinions now.  NBC Sports is all over this story…

"Also par for the course? He is insulted — ABSOLUTELY INSULTED — that a newspaper would have the temerity to ask him about all of this or to be critical of the whole affair. From the Marietta Daily Journal:COBB Commission Chair Tim Lee apparently has decided to balk rather than be interviewed again by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution about the Atlanta Braves’ move to Cobb County.Lee pointedly turned down an interview request Thursday from AJC investigative reporter Dan Klepal, saying he was fed up with the AJC’s relentlessly negative coverage of the move, according to an email leaked to Around Town."

Braves bringing back former scouting chief Roy Clark

Tomahawk Take Editor’s Notes:  The Braves are making moves quickly in their offseason as eight days after the Braves season ended, the Braves have named a new scouting director and brought back Roy Clark.  Fans everywhere are calling for major changes to Atlanta’s organization and players and the front office continues to make moves in that direction.

"An aggressive reshaping of the Braves front office continues with the return of longtime former scouting chief Roy Clark and the promotion of highly regarded scout Brian Bridges to scouting director. The Braves haven’t announced the moves yet because major league baseball asks teams not to make news during the playoffs without its approval and on its schedule."

Local fans watch baseball legend enter Hall of Fame

Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note:  Greg Maddux made his first All-Star tam in 1988 while pitching for the Chicago Cubs.  He had a 18-8 record with a 3.18 ERA.  Though the Cubs continued to struggle, Maddux didn’t want to leave Chicago.

"His one trip to the playoffs in the Windy City came in 1989, when he lost his Game 1 start against San Francisco and didn’t factor into the decision in Game 4, which the Cubs lost 6-4. The Cubs were eliminated by the Giants in five games. In spite of the team’s struggles, David recalls his son’s desire to stay in Chicago. Greg loved the city and the fans too much to seriously consider leaving, even though contending teams were more than interested in acquiring the young star’s services.“He won the Cy Young award in his last year there,” the elder Maddux said, referencing his son’s sterling 1992 season. “He didn’t really want to leave Chicago. The day he was supposed to go the press conference [to announce his contract signing], he got a call at 6 a.m. from the team saying [Ryne] Sandberg hadn’t signed.”"
